Coach Training & Certification

All Special Olympics Ontario coaches are asked to undertake coach training and certification through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).

**The requirement for coaches wishing to attend Provincial Games can be found below**

1.  Special Olympics NCCP Community or Competition Coaching course. See here for a list of scheduled courses.

2.  NCCP Multi-sport module: Making Ethical Decisions (Course and Evaluation), and two other modules from the Competition Introduction or Competition Development streams of the coach’s choice.  A list of available courses can be found on the Coaches Association of Ontario Course Calendar.
Please note: The Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation can be completed once the Multi-sport Making Ethical Decisions course appears on your NCCP Transcript. Once you have completed the MED training, and it appears on your transcript, you will have unlimited attempts at the MED evaluation. If you opt to take the evaluation without first completing the MED module there will be an $85 fee associated with the evaluation. The course can be found through The Locker on the Coaches Association of Canada website.
